Once again our 2012 African adventure
aboard the Rovos Rail’s “Pride of Africa” has proven
to be the most popular trip that we have recently
offered. It has generated lots of interest and
requests for more information and as result has
turned into a complete sell out of the entire train
with 70 spots literally sold in a matter of weeks. We
already have a “wait list” with many names under
deposit for this truly amazing 22-day journey in
2012 which will travel across the African continent
from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to Cape Town, South
Africa with many stops along the way. It will have
overnight stays in Dar es Salaam, Victoria Falls,
Zimbabwe and at the Tau Game Lodge in South
Africa as well as a 4-night stay in Cape Town at the
luxurious Table Bay hotel with all local sightseeing
included.
We are pleased to announce that we were
able to confirm and secure a limited number of
spaces for the same journeys departing in 2013 as
listed below. We are offering two departures; first
one will be from Cape Town to Dar es Salaam
departing on January 21, 2013. The other journey
will be in reverse going from Dar es Salaam to Cape
Town departing from Canada on February 8, 2013.
Please visit our web site under “2013 Exotic” section
for the day-by-day itinerary. If you book your
African Train Adventure now for 2013, you will be
protected from any future inflationary price
increases that could be imposed by suppliers or
airlines later on.
Our customized first class land tour to
South Africa and Victoria Falls scheduled for
February 2011 is now also sold out, with a full
contingent of travellers ready to explore the best of
South Africa, Zambia and Victoria Falls. Or cruise
the coast of west Africa aboard the luxury expedition
style m/v Prince Albert II with Silversea Cruises
in March 2012, please see a preview of this new
cruise/tour package on our web site. It will also
include hotel stays in Cape Town prior to the cruise
and in Dakar after the cruise. We have not been
able to confirm the final pricing before printing this
brochure, but if this trip interests you let us know
and as soon as we have all the pricing confirmed,
we will advise you and it will be posted on our web
site.

This same itinerary departing in March 2011
sold out in just two weeks, after it was open for
bookings with Silversea Cruises, as the ship can
only accommodate a maximum of 132 guests. For
other departures in 2011 aboard the m/v Prince
Albert II please see under “Europe 2011” for Europe
and Canada sailings.
We are excited to offer many new cruise
itineraries to Europe for 2011 with Princess Cruises,
Norwegian Cruise Line. One of the new cruise
itineraries with NCL for next year is to the Holy Land
visiting Israel, Turkey, Cyprus and Egypt. It is the first
time in 11 years for NCL to visit Israel. If you are
planning to travel to Europe independently next
year, perhaps you might consider adding a 10-day
cruise sailing from Copenhagen, Denmark to the
Scandinavian Capitals and Russia to your European
trip. With great “cruise only” prices, inclusive of all
your port taxes and your shipboard gratuities.
Once again, all NCL bookings come with “Early
Booking” shipboard credits of up to $250 US per
stateroom.
As mentioned in our last brochure, we
have selected a special extended voyage to the
Mediterranean and the Middle East in late October
2011 aboard the Aegean Odyssey. It will take us for
30 days sailing from Rome via the Suez Canal to
Aqaba and Luxor ending up in Cairo. The inaugural
sailing this past May of the Aegean Odyssey was
very well received by everyone onboard. All guests
enjoyed the ambiance of the small ship, providing
great onboard service by friendly Pilipino staff, delicious
meals along with complimentary wine/beer
at dinner time. Guided shore excursions were
included for every port of call along with informative
lectures by historians. There was also a focus
on smaller and less travelled ports of call that most
other ships can only dream of visiting. Book this
cruise/tour before September 30th and you will
receive a “Free One-Category Upgrade” (applicable
to select categories only) and that adds up to a
value from $400 to $1,000 US per person based on
double occupancy on the stateroom you book.
Single travellers instead will receive specially
reduced rate. Please note that space for single
occupancy is very limited aboard the mv Aegean
Odyssey in select categories.
Princess Cruises has introduced this year a
new system for booking air flights in conjunction
with their cruises. It is called “eZAir Program”. The
actual cost of the airfare can not be quoted and
|
provided by Princess Cruises if it is outside of 10
months prior to the departure of the cruise you
wish to book. Therefore, all our pricing with
Princess Cruises listed in this brochure for next
summer and fall are “cruise only” since all of them
are out of the date range for flight confirmation and
pricing by Princess Cruises. Any reservations that
are made as cruise only, will have their flights
added to the booking later and you will be advised
about the actual cost of your flights for your
Princess Cruises package at that time. This move is
to address the current volatile issue of protecting
the actual cost of airfares and space availability with
their cruises, which has been the most challenging
issue for many cruise lines in recent months.
Our recent special land tour that we put
together to the Himalayas this past April, visiting
Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet was one of the most
diverse land tours that I have taken. Each country
offered a totally different experience. The ancient
and spiritual sights as well as the scenery in Bhutan
was beyond anyone’s imagination. It was like going
back in time to a country with under a million
population. Imagine a capital city like Thimpu that
is still without a single traffic light. This is a photographer’s
dream tour and a must destination! Based
on the uniqueness of this tour and places visited,
we are offering two departures again in 2011.
Please note that with this package you can add a
side trip to visit Northern India (Delhi, Jaipur and
Agra) before the tour or a stop-over in Dubai, U.A.E.
after the Himalayan land tour. Book early as this
tour is limited to only 18 travellers per departure.
Our 16 day land tour to Peru and Ecuador
including a Galapagos cruise departing on October
21, 2011 is almost sold out. As a result, we have
added a second departure a week later departing
on October 28, 2011.
Early September, I will embark with a group
of 30 plus on a 25-day adventure to the Canadian
Arctic aboard the luxurious expedition style m/v
Prince Albert II with Silversea Cruises. Our journey
will begin in Reykjavik, Iceland with a 4-day hotel
stay followed by a 19-day cruise with many stops
in Greenland. Then we journey to Iqaluit, Baffin
Island with other coastal stops in Nunavut before
continuing along the coast of Labrador and
Newfoundland. We will disembark at St. John’s,
Newfoundland and spend 2 nights before heading
home. I am looking forward to this Great Northern
Canadian Expedition!
Wishing Everyone a Great Summer!
